Taming the Bloom explores the human tendency to impose order and rationality upon nature’s unruly, organic forms. In this work, I play with the tension between anthropocentric “order” and nature’s “chaos” by arranging lilac flowers into a structured, geometric composition. This gesture acts as a quiet rebellion against the traditional use of plants and flowers in cyanotype, a medium that often romanticises nature in sentimental ways.
By disrupting these visual expectations, I aim to shift the narrative and open new poetic possibilities within the medium. The work consists of two small cyanotype prints presented together within a single frame.
