Spring Library Oslo is an artistic intervention in public space — a project initiated by artists Matilda Löytty and Alexandra Stroganova. It took the form of a mobile pop-up library that appeared in various locations across Oslo, specifically in parks in the city centre, during sunny days in spring 2017.

Matilda and Alexandra built a library on wheels using upcycled old shelves and gave it a welcoming appearance through their artistic touch. They collected discarded books from a local public library and pulled the mobile library through Oslo’s city centre.

The project aimed to activate public engagement with shared spaces, encourage people to read analogue books, and promote sustainability.
