Taming the Bloom

When I use flowers to make cyanotypes, I arrange them into carefully structured, often geometric patterns. This method allows me to play with the tension between the unruly, organic forms of nature and the human impulse to impose order and rationality. I find new poetic possibilities for the medium in this juxtaposition.
