Analogue Photography 2024

My analogue black and white photography practice is rooted in a slow, meditative engagement with the world. I am drawn to landscapes and liminal spaces — places that exist in a state of in-betweenness. These include sites of ruination, abandoned buildings, and natural environments where human presence has faded or is quietly eroding.
Using film allows me to connect with the tactile and temporal qualities of the photographic process. The grain, the contrast, the subtle gradations of light and shadow — all contribute to a sense of timelessness and quiet observation. Black and white strips away the distraction of colour, offering a distilled view that emphasizes textures, atmospheres, and the emotional resonance of place.
